Dr. Hoffmann Pereira is a conductor and music educator. He has developed a holistic teaching method that makes students and performers active co-participants in the music decison-making process. It is a simple, down-to-earth, multi-step system that is music education/performance-oriented that simply works!
He was Music Professor, Director of Choral Activities, and Music Department Chair at Simpson University (California), Arizona Christian University (Arizona), and Hiwassee College (Tennessee). The Simpson University (California) choral division developed exponentially under Dr. Pereira's leadership. It became a modern and vibrant academic and artistic department, with professional caliber concerts, successful audience development, professional tours, and major masterworks performances by the Simpson Symphonic Choir (formerly Trinity Repertory Singers) in collaboration with the North State Symphony Orchestra and Shasta Symphony Orchestra, in California. Under his leadership, the Simpson Symphonic Choir was transformed into a large and stable community chorus especialized in the performance of masterworks for chorus and orchestra. He also directed the Simpson University Chorale in numerous concerts and professional tours in California, Oregon, and Washington State. At Hiwassee College, he directed the Hiwassee College Chorale and Shalom Chamber Singers, holding multiple concerts and tours in Tennessee. At Arizona Christian University, he directed the ACU Chorale, taught Conducting, and supervised the ACU Concert Series. At Dade Christian School (Miami area, FL), he directed five K-12 instrumental ensembles and oversaw the school's instrumental music program. He was also Orchestra and Chorus Director at Ramblewood Middle School (Coral Springs, FL). Dr. Pereira holds the Music K-12 Teaching Certificate (Florida). Dr. Pereira is a member of the Masterworks Chorus of the Palm Beaches, Adjunct Professor of Music at South Florida Bible College, and Instructor of Music at Atlantic Christian Academy.
